International Tourist Guide Day #ITGDay2021
Next Sunday, February 21st, the International Tourist Guide Day will be celebrated. #DIGT2021 #ITGDay2021
Ours is one of the businesses that has suffered the most from the restrictions established in order to control the COVID-19 pandemic. This last year, both travel and gathering of people have been limited and often prohibited, even in open spaces. Right now, guided visits are not permitted in Galicia. Thus we are unable to celebrate like we did in previous years, with free tours of our monuments and cities, in behalf of charities we support.
So this year we will celebrate virtually, using in all social media the hashtags #ITGDay2021 and #DIGT2021. Througout Spain, supervised by the national federation CEFAPIT that we are members of, we will show that we tourist guides are still there, waiting for all of you, with the health and security warranty we provide as professionals of guiding. Associations from all over the globe will also share on the WFTGA Facebook account, our experiences and iniciatives as Contributors to Rural Tourism through Creative Storytelling
This is the spot we composed for this event, with the participation of some of our 150+ members.
Accordingly, the president of the board of APIT-Galicia, Tommi Alvarellos, was interviewed by the show A Tarde on the Galician Radio (min. 49:25) and the TV magazine A Revista of the regional Galician broadcast TVG.
